Dirk is known largely as a \"musician's musician\" whose emotional recordings have carried deep tradition to generations of listeners. His original song, \"Waterbound,\" has been recorded over 100 times, and he has toured\/recorded extensively with artists such as Joan Baez, Eric Clapton, Rhiannon Giddens, Loretta Lynn, and many more, playing fiddle, banjo, Cajun accordion, and other instruments. His new release, \"Wake,\" was called a masterpiece by No Depression magazine. Amelia grew up in the thick of the tradition of her grandfather, fiddler and Cajun cultural ambassador, Dewey Balfa, in rural Louisiana. She is a hard-grooving rhythm guitarist, creating the \"band in a box\" sound needed to drive Cajun and Appalachian music, and sings with the passion and power of those vibrant traditions. She is a full-time member of Rhiannon Giddens' band and has traveled the world performing extensively since her teenage years. Together, Dirk and Amelia perform music of their heritage, write and craft original songs, and bring audiences the kind of soulful connection that comes from family playing together with trust, humor, and love.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003eSami Braman has been playing the fiddle since she was 6 years old, coming up amid the music festivals and jamming communities of the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant traditional Old-Time music scene. A member of The Onlies and a frequent collaborator with Willie Watson, she has performed and taught at festivals like Rockygrass, Swannanoa Gathering, Fiddle Tunes (co-artistic director), MerleFest, Green Mountain Bluegrass Festival, and Pickathon. Last summer, Sami and Willie played 70+ shows opening up for Alison Krauss and Union Station on their Summer 2025 Arcadia tour. Sami moved to Nashville in 2021 and shortly after recorded and released her first solo album of original tunes, Riveter. Sami is a buoyant, intuitive, and versatile fiddler who values deep understanding of the stories behind the tunes.
